COMMENT: There are times when comfort is key but VAMFF is not one of them. We should have known better than to base our looks around statement jackets (due to Melbourne’s unpredictable heat waves) but we once again threw caution to the wind and sweltered through this steaming March night. Thankfully we were so distracted people-watching and absorbing all the incredible festival street-style that we ignored the roasting temperatures (both inside and outside of the runway shows) and engrossed ourselves in all things VAMFF. The countless velvet looks coming down the runway made a clear statement that this trend will be around for at least another autumn/winter season. Christopher Esber featured incredible suited looks with killer details while Strateas Carlucci had us literally dying over every single piece. The runways heaved with tonnes of bright tones and heaps of accessorizing done right (think statement heels and amazing bags). Modern, fresh and ultra wearable.
